Fandom: taking back Valentine's Day since 2008!

So last year bottle-of-shine had a Kissing Battle. The last edition is here (EDITED TO ADD: this is the old battle, not the current one!). It was a lot of fun and might be known around FF-fandom circles as the best Meme ever**.

They stared at each other from across the gondola. The silence was palpable, punctuated only by the groan of the guidewire and, faintly, the sound of far-off calliope music.

It was Cait's fault, really. What the hell had he been thinkin', knocking on Aeris's hotel door like that? He was a mechanical cat, and she was a beautiful lady. Deep down in his cybernetic heart, Cait had known it wouldn't work out, but still, he was nothing if not stubborn. Why she had actually agreed to his hemming, hawing request, well, that was one mystery not even Cait Sith's fortunes could give the answer to.

She was bein' so nice to him as well, so patient. Other folks had pointed and whispered when they walked by on their stroll, but Aeris never seemed to take him anything but seriously. Cait wanted to tell her how much he appreciated it - bein' a toy cat, you didn't get much respect in the world - but for once he didn't have the words ( ... )

Edea's only thought was to keep the strange woman away from the children, just in case. Then she realize who - or rather what - she was. A sorceress, badly injured, who needed to pass on her power.

Ultimecia took Edea's small hand in her own, and pressed her lips to the woman's forehead, and Edea didn't even think to scream as the electricity ran between them and the older sorceress poured into the mind of the younger.

Edea was left staggering, breathing hard, and almost unaware of the wicked little turn to her smile. Almost.

Nanaki had attempted pretty much everything. He put his paws over his ears, he turned his back, he even politely asked. But did his impassioned pleas work? Nay, nay. The infernal chatterbox kept going, prattling on about everything that flooded his tiny robotic mind.

It was enough to drive a civilized beast back to ferocity.

"... And it's so nice havin' another cat on-board to jaw at, 'cause none of the others ever really understand or listen or nothin'! Don't you just hate that? I mean, I ain't a real cat, leastaways how people think of real cats, but I got feelins like a flesh and blood fe-line too! I like scratchin' things! Sometimes I even lick m'own ars ( ... )

AH! Ok, not only is this freaking adorable on every level, but kind of ironic too, as I just finished playing the Fire Cavern last night (on like my 4th replay of this game)! And I was seriously wondering, just a few hours ago, "Wouldn't it be royally kick-ass if Ifrit and Shiva interacted a little more? What would they say?"

Hurray for awesome timing! (And totally awesome fic.)

No talking on Shiva's part, I felt like being silly and using mostly the actual script to work from, but glad you liked it! Really though, imagine what that would be like, you go into a battle and summon one of the summons and a story event like THAT happens. :D

I would marry the game that has this scene in it...not that you can exchange vows with RPGs, last time I checked (and I HAVE checked, mind you). But yeah, awesome!
