Fandom: taking back Valentine's Day since 2008!
So last year
bottle-of-shine had a Kissing Battle. The last edition is
here (EDITED TO ADD: this is the old battle, not the current one!). It was a lot of fun and might be known around FF-fandom circles as the best Meme ever**.
Pretty much everyone I know is stressed about something, too, so this round of the

"Ok, this is it. Are you ready?"
Squall waved off Quistis' words.
"You seem confident enough."
Squall refused to blink when pillars of heat and light rose up from the lava pit. Stones flew high, and with them came a beast. Earth brown skin, a mane of red, razor sharp teeth and horns with tips so sharp they rivaled those of the most well-crafted swords. His roar shook the cave, clawed feet planting firmly as the Guardian Force stood to face the duo.

They were puny humans. A boy with a knife and a girl with a whip. They had that cocky look to them, the one he had seen from so many weaklings that defiled his rest by trying to make him bow to them. They all died. By a quick gash to the head or the burning of their flesh, they all fell with ease. He charged a Fire spell, hand to his side, staring fiercely at his target. He watched the boy step forward, hand to his head and toy sword moved back as green orbs floated and spun around him, scattered in every direction.
Sparks of blue danced in the air and dug into the ground. Ice spread, a pillar of it rising up from below. And inside...
"They have Shiva!?"
The ice queen opened her eyes, and the pillar burst into thousands of tiny fragments.
Ifrit froze. The woman hovered closer, and closer. A trail of ice pursued, a fine line from her birth to the demon of flames. A ball of Fire waited in his hand, begging for release. One little motion. That's all it would take.
He felt those frosty, merciless lips peck his forehead. It burned, breaking past his rough, raw demonhide.

Quistis gawked. She couldn't help it. Something felt wrong, about all this. She watched the two Guardian Forces embrace each other. She watched one of Ifrit's hands snake its way to the small of the blue woman's back while the other ran along her blonde-blue-green hair. She failed to fight the urge to drop her whip and held herself as Shiva's kisses moved down, leaving tiny ice patches that fizzled in seconds.
"Ugh, I underestimated Shiva." Ifrit said. "Very well, I will join you."
Light flashed as the pair faded.
Squall returned from the unknown a few seconds later.
"What happened?" he asked.
Quistis shuddered. "You don't want to know."
