What do you want for Christmas?

Nov 07, 2009 20:35

So, its that time of year again--the time when I look around my room and think "Where did all this yarn come from? Surely I did not buy it. It must have snuck in while I wasn't looking."

So, oh readers of my blog, I ask:

What knitted thing can I foist on you this holiday season?

Yes, indeed, if you have always craved a hat, some socks, a pair of ( Read more... )

Of course! Would you like it to have an embroidered angry face?

So I almost wasn't sure about this request but compared to an angry stuffed uterus this is downright normal- might I possibly have a stuffed red panda? I saw them when I visited the zoo in DC last month and they have the most adorable faces, much cuter than giant pandas. Would you be interested in a gift as well? I do still knit though I am rather limited in my skills. Mostly dishcloths, though I'm sure any dishcloth I make you could churn out yourself in half an hour, so I'm open to other requests within reason, knitted or otherwise. I also have a book of plastic canvas coaster set patterns that are quite cute. :-)

Of course! A red panda has the same general body shape as a cat or racoon, so it shouldn't be a problem.

I could actually use some coasters. I keep getting water rings on my desk.

Perfect! This is the coaster pattern book I have, so I'd be perfectly happy to make whichever one you'd like! Click "see more photos" under the book to see the rest of the sets.

um um um. i really love the arm-warmer glovey things you made me last year, and found myself actually a little excited when it got colder because it meant i could pretend to have dragon-arms again. (did i tell you i secretly imagine i am a dragon when i wear them?) so would it be greedy if i asked you for something this year too?

No, it would not be greedy, it would be fun. What would you like? I'd offer to make you something that matched your gloves, but I will never be able to dye yarn that exact color again.

Nope, very easy. Are you looking for something plain and subdued, something brightly colored, or something delightfully ridiculous (cat ears, dragon face and tail, etc)?

I would like to request a script for one page of the History According To webcomic we keep chatting about! Because I am going to be at home for Far Too Long (it deserves capitalization) over winter break and I would like to have something entertaining to work on. =D

You got it! Any particular topic you favor?

Also, may I suggest a part-time job or volunteer project? It is a great way to avoid this problem. "Sorry Mom, I can only get one week off, so it will have to be a short visit."
