CSI Las Vegas Main List Chapter 1 Chapter 2 Chapter 3 “What the hell are you doing?” Greg wriggled away from Nick’s grip. He tried to
get out of the car, but the central locking was on. “And let me out of here!”
Nick drove the truck away from the parking lot and to the street. “You’re not
getting away, so stop that.”
“What do you think you’re doing?!”
“We’re going away.”
“We’re going where?”
“I’ll tell you later.”
“You’ll tell me now! First you use my vacationed days to kidnap me, and -”
He paused to look at the backseat. “-and what are you doing with my bags?”
“I went by your place when you were going to the lab and I got some of your
clothes.”
“How did you get in?”
“You’ve kept your spare key in the same place as long as I’ve known you.”
“So you just walked in, grabbed my clothes and then grabbed me?”
“If I had told you about it you would have said No.”
“Say No to what? You haven’t even told me that!”
“You said I didn’t want to spend time alone outside of your bed. Now we got
five days alone.”
“Nick, if you’re doing this because I said that it doesn’t matter.”
“Can you stay quiet for a minute! That whole thing at the bar got me thinking.”
“About what?”
“I just…. assumed you were happy because I was. I think I got what you meant.”
“Are you sure about that? Because if your not, you better let me out now.”
“You’re not going anywhere.” Nick grinned.
This time he got a small smile from Greg.
“So…. Where are we going?”
“It’s a surprise. We’re gonna be on the road for a while, so you can take a nap
if you want.”
“I’m using my hard earned vacation days here, and you want me to sleep?” Greg
said but didn’t seem to mind the plan. He leaned back against the backrest and
was fast asleep under two minutes.
------------------------------------------
“G, wake up.” Nick shrugged him carefully.
“No more chilijello…..”
“Wake up.”
“Wha-” Greg’s eyes snapped open. “Where are we?”
“Take a look.”
Greg got out of the truck and looked at their srroundings. They were in the middle
of a forest, in front of a log cabin. Chilly wind brought a distinctive smell from the
other side of the woods.
“Is there a lake somewhere?”
“Yeah. Maybe half a mile from here. Were a bit to the south from the Nevada
border. Two more hours that way and we would be in Oregon.”
“What time is it?”
“Three in the morning.”
“And what with the cabin?”
“I know a guy who knows a guy. He borrows it when I came here for bird watching.”
“We’re watching birds?”
“If you want.” Nick smirked. “Honestly, you don’t need to if you don’t want to.”
“I don’t mind little bird watching.” Greg grabbed him by his waist and pulled him
closer. “You still haven’t got the full picture.”
“What’s the full picture?”
“I never said we should do something specific. I meant that we should spend some
time alone, I don’t care what we actually do.”
“Well…. If you don’t like bird watching, we could set up a fire and make love on
a bear rug in front of a fire place….” Nick chuckled.
“At three in the morning?”
“Or we could get our stuff in, make some breakfast and watch the sun come up.”
“Sounds good.” Suddenly Greg’s face turned serious. “Did you say you went to my
place and you got me some clothes?”
“Yeah.”
“Just clothes?”
“What do you mean?”
“You know what I mean! Did you take it?”
“I would love to torment you some more, but I’ll save if for later. Yes, I did
take it.”
Nick started digging his coat pockets and pulled out a paper bag. Greg grabbed
it and gave it a long, wet kiss. “Good, because otherwise I would have to strangle
you.”
“I know you way too well to leave your coffee behind.”
“Well, you’ve seen what I’m like when I don’t get my coffee. I get cranky, whiny,
repetitive, aggressive, repetitive, foulmouthed, repetitive, sleazy, repe-”
“Greggo, you made your point. Are you planning to help me carry all the stuff in?”
“And here I hoped you’d forget that… Fine, let’s get started.”
------------------------------------------
“Okay, I admit it. That’s pretty.” Greg commented and buried himself deeper into
his blanket. They were sitting on the porch watching the sun come up.
“Are you mad at me?”
“For what?”
“Kidnapping you.”
“Are we still gonna try that sex session in front of the fire place?”
“Anytime.”
“Then no, I’m not mad.”
Both of them were quiet for a while, enjoying the sight.
Then a faint screeching started ringing from Nick’s coat pocket. He opened his
cell phone and checked the caller ID.
“Warrick.”
Greg buried his face behind his coffee mug. “Up to you.”
Nick clicked the phone off and put it back to his pocket.
