We had a handful of nice people over to test the deep fryer that casey just found on craigslist, then rested with the dogs.

I applied for some writing gigs, and got some. Then I went to a BBQ. :)

What writing gigs? BBQs are a good thing. :)

It started with me applying to be an Examiner (www.examiner.com). I got that gig. It's not paying (much) but it will help me establish credibility/drive traffic to Markeroni. I also applied for a job writing articles for an online florist, and got that gig, and now I seem to be "their" writer which is way way cool. And then I applied at suite101 which is another article service, which should build me up some residual income. And I have an ongoing gig at a pay-per-post online magazine. And all of a sudden I seem to have a small but growing career in writing which is, actually, sort of startling. And exciting. :)
