Today's adventure

Sometimes, seemingly small things nag at me and bother me. Today it's a crow. I just missed 5 parking spots this morning, which caused me to round the corner. As I drove down the street, I saw something large and black flapping near a car tire. For those that don't know, I love crows. If I have a totem animal, a spirit guide, it would be a crow. So ( Read more... )

The same is true for me, and has been true since before I knew about totem animals or spirit guides. I felt the connection around age 12 or 13 before I knew what to make of it.

So ... I understand on some level. I'm sorry this one didn't make it. But wow, you did more than anyone would ...

I think one of the things that bothers me in general is that I did do more than most people would. Why? Why is it so hard to stop and help an animal or another human being? When I stopped two people said "Oh yeah, we saw it." and they were standing outside an apartment building with an enclosed grassy area. How hard would it have been to pick up the bird with newspaper and place it over the fence?

Crows are amazing, intelligent creatures. I'm happy that we have an affinity for crows in common.

How beautiful that you touched that crow with such love.

All creatures are deserving of that, at some time or another, don't you think? It's how I try to live my life. And it's so much easier to do that for animals than it is to do it for people. Animals don't think, they just accept.

I'm so sorry, Helen. Thank you for being there as the crow passed on... I'm another crow lover, though I wouldn't call them my totem.

*hugs*

:) Thank you.

I also brought it home and buried it near my statue of St. Francis. Seems like what I was meant to do.

That's lovely. :) When I found a pigeon in obvious distress, being that I'm in an apartment, I took the bird to the wild bird care centre so they could properly take care of it after it died.

Doing what you can is so important. I don't think many people would think to do what you did. Yay you.

Oh these feathers were such glossy black blue. It was a full grown bird but it seemed young. I'm guessing it either had West Nile or it had been poisoned. There was no outward sign of trauma and no bleeding. It's wings were not broken but it was acting very strangely. Yes, crows have been finding me lately again too. For me, it's a very good thing. It could mean I'm coming back around to being me again.

I hope so too. I'm going to touch base with you via e-mail in a couple of days and try to make something work. I really want to come.
