Have you forgotten how awesome you are? How intelligent? How funny? Those qualities are way more important than where someone sleeps or what her job is.

Don't forget you also overcome massive pain. You contribute to society. You don't let the pain define you. You have incredible strength and courage.

I can't imagine any person in the Marines who wouldn't be delighted to have your affection, attention, and love. The kind of person who would join the Marines in the first place logically values courage, determination and wit, all of which you have in spades.
