Luna had happened to make the Leaky Cauldron her dinner spot when her father had been called away to business and she didn't want to be left in the over-cluttered workspace they called a home. She was usually well taken care of there, though it did have an odd distaste of old memories there now. It was better then going down to Finnigan's. She still couldn't face Seamus. Tom didn't make it much easier to face him either.

Things hadn't ended well between them, but that didn't mean she had to avoid places they had spent time together. She was eating soup and a sandwich in the booth at the window. She saw Ron outside and just watched with those silvery blue eyes. She hadn't seen or spoken to him in a long while, but then again, he still referred to her as Loony from time to time. Everyone did.

It didn't take a lot to get Ron's stomach grumbling, usually just the whiff of a good meal coming from a stray chimney might set it off. As was the case almost immediately when he entered the small pub on his way to the Alley. He'd only just stepped through the door when it hit him, penetrating even the scent of old musty wood and stale alcohol that was always prominent in the establishment. A quick bite to eat couldn't hurt, and it had been a long time since he'd given the Leaky any business, so Ron made the decision then and there to have lunch ( ... )

She heard her name and hadn't even noticed that he had come into the bar. She gave him her small smile and nodded to him, "Just having a bite instead of sitting at home alone." she replied, "And what of you? What brings you to the Leaky?"

It was strange to her sometimes, running into people she knew, it was like she knew them but she didn't know them at all. They were what she counted as friends. Ronald Weasley was one she had always had a bit of a time relating to. He came from a big boisterous family with big and brash personalities. She had never minded the Weasleys. They were all very nice people and while sometimes they could be a little rude (Ronald), in general, they were very nice.

"Having a bit of a bite yourself? Or did you come to find friends?"

Yeah, so asking her what she was doing in particular might have been a stupid question- seeing as it was obvious. He smiled a bit and scratched the side of his head, nodding at her plate and remarking. "Yeah, of course...sorry, I meant, well haven't seen you much at all lately. Though, m'happy to! I've been meaning to tell you good job on that article not too long ago about he rally!"

For once, Ron sounded sincere to Luna- because, well, he was! It was good to read the truth, even if it seemed to come from so few and so far between these days. Without even asking, he pulled up the seat beside her, falling into it and glancing up at the waiter before smiling back to the girl beside him.

"Well, technically m'just here to stretch my legs and have an afternoon outside Hogsmeade for once."
