Winifred Wood was a very important little girl to her, even if Winifred, like her mother, didn't care too much for Katie. It was Oliver's child and Oliver was her best friend. Larson and Gristian were also seventh years, thus if they were sent to search the Forbidden Forest, they would have the sufficient defense capabilities, plus she would be with them.
She reported in that she and the other three were there with the support of their brooms to search for Winifred, worried silly about how Oliver was handling all of this.

Rival yes, but still a fellow player. Katie was her best mate and she wasn't about to just leave her out on the line when she knew how jumbled Katie was about her feelings for Oliver, that had been clearly unrecquited. She led them back to the search tent and reported their lack of findings to the auror on duty.
She then forced her friend to drink some pumpkin juice and get warmed up, making Gristain and Larson do the same.

Parvati heard footsteps crunching in the dirt behind her and turned to see a familiar blonde.
"Hannah," she said, glad to see a friend. She stopped and waited for the other girl to catch up so they could walk together.

Hannah paused her steps as she saw Parvati's hand come up in a motion that told of tears being pushed away. Taking a look back and noting the proximity to the house, Hannah was fairly certain that there must be memories of playing with the little girl in this very spot. She knew she wouldn't have been able to handle being here and that gave her all the respect in the world for Parvati's evident strength.
When she began to walk again, Parvati turned in her direction. "Parvati," Hannah said a touch of sadness in her voice that she couldn't hide at the moment. She fought the urge to hurry to her friend's side and instead forced herself to walk dignified with purpose. "How are you holding up?" she asked once the two women were close.

Still, he couldn't argue that he appreciated the feeling of full cognizance it gave him. Hell, by rights, he normally wouldn't even have remembered any of the past hour or the one to come.
From the time Severus had first burst into his room in a panic, Remus had shifted back into what he thought of as his 'general mode', that focused, detached personality which took the dangers instride until he could collapse from fear, or guilt, or what have you later. Dragging himself out of bed and throwing on the first serviceable clothes that came to hand, he was ready to go in ten minutes. While Severus woke June, Remus had gone down to to inform Glamis of what was ( ... )

Oh, hell, there was no point in trying to deceive himself! Severus had come here itching for a fight as much as he wished to help aid the search for a child his pessimistic nature insisted was already dead. Wood had needed almost no provocation to fly off the handle, and Severus was all too willing to provide that which was needed ( ... )

Having spoken with Ginevra and assured himself, now, that June was as looked-after as he could hope for in the circumstance, Severus once again returned to the main tent, where the crowd was thinning as people headed out, some with broomsticks in hand, some on foot.
At last he spotted Remus, and made his way directly toward the werewolf, who appeared to be collecting his own 'assignment'.
Severus waited until he could claim Remus' attention without calling undue attention to himself. He didn't like the look of the werewolf's complexion - the blasted potion forced the lycanthrope's body to work precisely contrary to its nature. There was a slight flush to Remus' cheeks as though he had been undergoing exertion, yet the flush poorly over-laid the pallor beneath which spoke, to the trained eye, of the stress his body was under.
There would be hell to pay for Remus and Derrick when the potion wore off, damn it! And if the child wasn't found - they'd risked serious illness for nothingHowever, done was done. There ( ... )

"Ginevra," he greeted her gravely. "June is in the house. Wood's parents are among the most unpleasant individuals I have encountered in my life - I suspect, if you find time to treat her today, that she would prefer the procedure to be done in privacy."
He glanced about the crowded tent.
"I intend to go on to Knockturn Alley shortly - my usefulness might be better utilised, there."

"Alright, Severus? You look a bit... Well, you don't look quite so put together."
She managed to get past his appearance long enough to listen to his words. She figured June would be in the house; the young woman wasn't anywhere in the tent, and it was probably too noisy for her anyway. "I don't imagine conducting a physical in front of others is a good habit to get into for a healer, anyways. I'll be sure to take her into the guest room.
"What will you be doing in Knockturn Alley? Checking around the, er, 'usual' suspects?"

Unaware of having looked unusually 'mussed', he had thought he'd seen to the state of his robes well enough. Granted, he had a goose-egg growing on the back of his head where he'd impacted the wall of the house with Wood's first blow, but he was oblivious to his appearance.
Nodding his agreement at her assessment of June's situation, he folded his arms over his chest, brow furrowed in concern.
"Yes, and she's less than an hour post-transformation. She oughtn't be out of her own bed. She's settled in the house, but she's exhausted. I won't pretend not to be concerned about her."
He cast a scowling glance toward the house.
"Wood's parents are, unsurprisingly, even more bigoted than he is. I was quite surprised not to see Gryffindor Power tattooed across their foreheads ( ... )
