BRB sweating

I've always been what my mom called "cold natured", we both were. Everyone else in a room would be too warm but we'd be in sweaters because we were cold. I'm sure y'all see where this is going. For a little while now I've been noticing that I'm warm when no one else is. I actually had to wait outside while my husband ordered take out not too ( Read more... )

i have the same issue with the sweating.. so much so we had to put a waterproof thingy under the matress pad because i have, in the past literally had to sleep in the guest bedroom cause the bed itsself was still wet after almost 18hrs of being unmade and having a fan on it. fwiw i am on both cymbalta and effexor xr among a variety of other meds.

I deal with similar- I overheat at around 67- 70 deg. I'm uncomfortable by 70,sweating buckets by 75. My pain flares are much worse when its 70 and up as well. for me, I love in wash cloths and icepacks, and drink/eat cooling things like mint/watermelon etc. Pomegranate helps a lot- it is a natural refrigerant(makes your body cold). I just try to make due.

*I am not medicated at the moment.

I think it is a Cymbalta thing. Like you, I run cold but suddenly started waking up with night sweats. When I went off the Cymbalta it stopped. The doctor said that a lot of his patients on Cymbalta have complained about the same things, although it is not a state side effect. As far as benefits vs side effects, I could put up with the night sweats for the lack of pain! it just meant washing sheets more often (actually starting putting en extra flat sheet under me. tried towel but it was too hot) and taking a shower/bath as soon as I woke up in the morning.

Night sweats started happening for me when I was on zoloft. They are better for me on cymbalta, but still happen sometimes. I found limiting my fluid intake close to bed time helps a bit. Sleeping in very light clothing helps. Sometimes I'm cold and hot at the same time and I find myself doing things like sticking just one foot out of the blankets to regulate my temperature.

Of course this sort of thing happens to women in their 40s and older with hormonal changes--but I suspect meds are a more likely culprit.

I actually started laughing reading this because I do the one foot out of the covers thing as well. My husband doesn't understand it, but it's nice to see I'm not alone!

I actually did briefly wonder if I was going into some weirdly early menopause but I'm only 28 so I dismissed that pretty quickly. But there was a "That can't be it, can it?!" moment.

I think you'd have issues with your menstrual cycle and also hot flashes for no reason, etc.

My husband asks if I want one or both my feet covered up if he notices I've kicked the covers off. :D

Haha! ME TOO! When I was at my parent's house over the holidays, my mom would come into the room while I was sleeping and cover that one foot up and it would actually wake me up I'd be so hot!

I have to sleep under different blankets from my boyfriend often because of our temperature differences, though for me it's the narcotics I'm on. They make my dad super cold, and me, I sweat buckets and overheat SUPER EASILY on them, but freeze to death when I miss a dose.

Yes, but since night sweats and sweating in general can be symptomatic of all kinds of nasties, I plan to talk to a doc about it.
