I just reread one of my old LJ entries and found that I'd typed "bedgraggled" instead of "bedraggled." I rather like the sound of "bedgraggled." Any votes for what it should mean?

I've reached the Recipe Redline with custard cups--meaning I have so many recipes involving custard cups waiting in my mental "recipes I'd like to try" queue that I simply must, must have custard cups. I even went to get some a few weeks ago, but IKEA was out. And now between my furlough and...well...my furlough, I really can't justify buying ( Read more... ) -

Portuguese is so pretty.
That statement is a bit of non sequitur unless I also mention that I am listening to a Portuguese singer right now. (No, not Mariza.) If Mexican Spanish reflects the warmth and brightness of the desert, than Portuguese reflects the susurration of the ocean when it meets the harbor. Yummy ( Read more... ) -

They're having an open house this weekend in Hagerstown including seminars on "Tax Aspects of Breeding Alpacas," "Alpaca 101," an alpaca obstacle course, and barbecue (not alpaca barbecue, we hope). -

I am inordinately pleased with the food I made tonight (it was going to be dinner, but I got too hungry, so I'm saving it for lunch. I made an egg salad sandwich for lunch. Homemade egg salad is so much better than the stuff you buy, it's not even funny. Maybe I just think that because I like to go heavy on the mustard.) The other foods I made were ( Read more... ) -
