Just before dusk, Raven returned to her room to wait for Jono. She still had on her far-too-colorful dress and hoped Sookie was right that he would like it.

[For the aforementioned boy, though the roomie or anyone else can catch her before they go.]

Jono had managed to negotiate an agreement with Emma. She didn't destroy his things while he was out and being social tonight, and he would wear the too-bright shirt that he had been stuck with, and would take her on a boat tour at some point this week, possibly even without too much complaint.

He had no idea if an agreement with a weasel could possibly stick, but at least he'd made the attempt. That was what counted, right? Now if only he could get over the urge to claw his own eyes out every time he glanced down, he'd be all set for his evening out with Raven.

... Either way, he was knocking.

Raven took one last look in the mirror at her hair and tried to appreciate the dress. It wasn't too bad, was it? And Sookie said it was cute and brought out her eyes. It was just...not black.

She grabbed her cloak -- she still had that, at least -- because she knew it would be cold on the mountain and opened up the door. Please excuse her if she had to take a moment to stare at Jono's shirt, suddenly realizing that her own clothing swap could've been much much worse. Bobby was so very cruel.

"I see I was not the only one who had their clothing changed," she said with a smile. "Hello, Jono."

The Pool endsthegame February 22 2011, 17:20:11 UTC
All right; by Tuesday evening, Ender had to admit to himself that maybe he was avoiding everyone. He'd had his dinner early and left when everyone else went for the dining area, and now he found himself at a nearly-empty pool.

There was something relaxing about swimming at night. It might actually be an idea to try it out in the ocean tomorrow, in the quiet. The water would be warm enough.

Now, though, he dove deep into the water and let it carry him. He touched the bottom of the pool with his fingertips and pushed off, like a parody of the Battle Room, and tried to quiet his mind.

Rory had more than enough people to bring gifts back for, it's true.

But most of her energy tonight was set on finding tiny little Hawaiian print dresses for her daughter, because she knew Anakin would pretend to hate it. And Juliet would look adorable.

Shopping - Na Hoka daventryprince February 23 2011, 00:53:56 UTC
It felt like a good day for Alexander to hit the shops and try to find presents to bring back home to Daventry for his family. So far, he'd gotten quite an impressive collection going....

...and then he hit Na Hoku, one of many jewelry shops he could have gotten trapped in, but it had done a fine job of getting him maudlin and sad, looking at all those pretty pearls and thinking of which one he would get for Cassima if only...

...or perhaps he would get it for her anyway. Just in case. One could never know, right? He was deciding if that was too pathetic.

It got even worse when the kind saleswoman explained to him that Na Hoku meant 'stars' in Hawaiian. Now he simply had to...

Norio’s Japanese Restaurant and Sushi Bar justwantsquiet February 22 2011, 19:44:18 UTC
Sookie had tried sushi maaaaybe twice in her life, and both times, she'd sort of stuck to the whole California roll thing.

Tonight, though, she was feeling adventurous. Blame the fact that she'd gotten to see lava up close -- it somehow made her much more daring. So she decided to take herself out to try real sushi, in a sushi bar, and see what the fuss was all about.

"Whatever are you eating?" Rilla asked, spying Sookie through the window.

"Sushi!" Sookie waved Rilla over. "Come sit with me. You can try it too! It's supposedly very good for you."

After a day spent enjoying the beach or exploring the Big Island's many sights, relax in genuine refinement at this upscale bar and lounge, where patrons gather over billiards or play board games. If you've repose in mind, settle into a cozy chair, peruse the pub-style menu, order a favorite cocktail or imported ale, or even sip a cup of gourmet Kona coffee.

There was pool. That was something Jaina could get behind, especially since she'd gotten to the point where she didn't suck so bad again. If she could get back to her pool shark wannabe level, that'd be great, but for now she was just having fun practicing.

Kahakai Bar Oceanfront just_add_starch February 22 2011, 17:05:28 UTC
Kahakai means 'beach' in Hawaiian and this beachside bar features a Polynesian-style thatched roof, refreshing trade winds and billion dollar views of Mauna Kea and the blue Pacific. A variety of tropical libations and mouth-watering pupu (appetizers) are served.

Dolf was a manly man (shut up, stop laughing) and wasn't going to opt for any of the millions of cocktails they had on the menu. However, he was also a distinctly underage manly man, which meant his options were a little limited.

"I'll have a cola," he informed the barman, flopping down into a seat. "And a-- uh, pupu?"

No, he didn't get why anyone would think the name was funny.

This was very quickly becoming a routine, wasn't it, Kate at this bar in the evening?

Tonight, there were two differences in comparison to the previous two nights, though. One, Kate was wearing cut off shorts and a tank top instead of the sundress. She didn't want to get predictable, and besides, the shorts showed off her legs a little more. Always a plus.

And two, she'd started with the alcoholic drinks straight away. Tuesday seemed like a good day to get a little tipsy when the Wednesday that followed wasn't a work day, right? And that had nothing at all to do with wishing to drown any jealousy or anything. Nothing at all.

Ariel hadn't talked to Kate in a while, and, hey, some bar in a tropical paradise seemed a great time because everything had to be good in a tropical paradise, right?

So there she was, offering up a smile before sipping at her drink. "Hey, Kate. Isn't this fantastic?"
