Sookie had tried sushi maaaaybe twice in her life, and both times, she'd sort of stuck to the whole California roll thing.

Tonight, though, she was feeling adventurous. Blame the fact that she'd gotten to see lava up close -- it somehow made her much more daring. So she decided to take herself out to try real sushi, in a sushi bar, and see what the fuss was all about.

"Whatever are you eating?" Rilla asked, spying Sookie through the window.

"Sushi!" Sookie waved Rilla over. "Come sit with me. You can try it too! It's supposedly very good for you."

"That is generally not the same thing as 'it is very delicious,'" Rilla pointed out warily as she sat down.

"I haven't tried it yet," she admitted. "I mean, I've tried kind of fakey-sushi, for beginners, but lots of people like it. It's fish, prepared in a Japanese style."

She should probably mention that it was raw. Eh, Rilla would figure it out.

"Of course! We can have our introduction to proper sushi together," Sookie declared happily. "And then feel good about eating something healthy for dinner."

"And find something positively sinful for dessert?" Rilla suggested.

"Of course. Maybe ice cream!" Then she could take something back to the room to ply Bobby with, in case he got revenge on her for the night before.

"Wonderful!" Rilla squealed. "Where to do we begin?" She glanced at the menu. "I recognize...salmon," she admitted.

"And rice!" Sookie offered. "Ahi means tuna, too, and you know what that is."

"I do!" Rilla exclaimed happily.

There was a pause.

"...they want us to eat eel!?"

"C'mon, Rilla, be adventurous!" Sookie tried. "Eel's supposed to be good?"

Why was that a question?

"Have you ever seen an eel?" Rilla asked. "It's slimy and...and...slimy! I don't want to eat slime."

"Fish aren't not slimy," Sookie pointed out.
