Project re-entry

The plans to return home are progressing. We have booked 5 nights in Tokyo in a traditional style Japanese hotel. It's near the center of the city and should be a good launching point. We've also booked 2 nights in a rather luxurious hotel at the base of Mt Fuji that has views of the mountain from it's natural hot spring baths. Looking forward ( Read more... )

your trip to japan sounds RAD. its so nice there, will you get to see the cherry blossoms? :)

Yep Melbourne will be our long term home. I have some rellies over in Adelaide that want me to drive the Lotus over for them to check out. I'll definatly drop in on you when I'm there, just have to time it so you're not out at a mine some where!

If we see the cherry blossom, it'll be by chance not design. The date of bug burst moves around depending on the weather so it's difficult to time it right.

Can you fill the car with stuff when you ship it back? That could save some boxes :)

Yes and no, it depends on which shipping company I end up using. Some are OK with filling the car, others are not.

Having stuff in the car will increase the customs processing time and potentially cost. The final decision on how it will all work should hapen this weekend.

Yep, ryokan. I bought Sarah a learn Japanese game for the nintendo DS for Christmas, I've been running through the lessons too. Funny thing is I think I now know more Japanese than after studying it for 2 years a school! Crazy how a bit of incentive focuses the mind!
