If I wanted a five player magic-heavy, blood-drenched game set to only the most obnoxious heavy metal (queue Fates Warning, Rhapsody of Fire, or any other appropriate high-fantasy concept album factory) how would I match up the schools of magic with the instruments? We've never made plans very far in advance for Gen Con, but if folks are going to go this year, I'm going to suggest we get on hotel rooms as soon as possible. Do we want to do two rooms this year instead of one? It will make it more comfortable and better for people who like to do things like sleep, but also more expensive. I've offered my old laptop to my parents. Currently it has an unusable version of Windows installed on it, and having no idea where a copy of Windows is that I could install on the computer and then legally give it to my folks might be, I've offered to install Linux for them. How can I haz output from command line application in shell variable? I'm writing a shell script that needs to know a users uid number. So I've tried UID=id -u $NAME and what I think might be every possible combination of grouping symbols, and none of them work. What the hell? The output is a SINGLE NUMBER.
