Okay, to start with I am rendered speechless by your brilliance. Linkin Park, Itchy, Scratchy and Poochie (I'd forgotten Poochie!), an actual PHOTO OF YOU W/girl!snape identifier... Pretty and clever. You're definitely a Ravenclaw, IMO. And those are just corollaries to the wonder of your actual analysis. ♥

Oh, who am I kidding? JKR doesn't have an editor!

Lol! :D I'm hoping that the paperback edition of DH will have some seriously revised dialogue layouts.

Harry growing two feet in height over the summer..I don't have the book handy to look it up, but I think he actually did that at the start of HBP! It was one of those throwaway 'tell, not show' JKR lines ( ... )

FWIW, I agree with you that Snape is a bastard. It's just that as a bastard myself, I can't help having a certain affinity with him. And... well, you've seen the picture. :D Honestly I think one of the reasons I like this chapter so much is all the backstory - I've always found the Marauder generation much more interesting than Harry's, so I'm biased in favour of this chapter.

He SHOULD have turned out evil. Throughout the books, he's a petty bully, the sort of teacher who would now be quietly suspendedAh, but he's the Vader of the series, so he had to turn out "good". ;) No, seriously - I do find this element a bit dissatisfying. The implication seems to be that he is redeemed through his love for Lily, even though he is a really unpleasant person the rest of the time. (Again with the Star Wars comparisons, but Vader being all nice to Luke at the end doesn't really make up for the destruction of Alderaan, does it? But we're supposed to think it does... *eyebrows go up ( ... )

HBP uberwank! *imagine bouncy emoticon here* I really can't wait. :) I'm glad you've got a bit of DH to go, though. Especially the epilogue. :D

Stop being so nice to me, I'll lose my cynical edge. :D

The epilogue is either going to be epic wank or else a total let down... it might have gay in it though. :P

Apparently, when a book series is as famous as this thids publishing house gives up on editing as they can't offend the writer- too much at stake. I've heard that the same thing happened with Stephen King's 'The Dark Tower' series.

Heee for the jokes *ships Snarry and Snapledore D:*

That wouldn't surprise me... I wonder if that's an official thing they do, or just a by-product of the general arse-licking that seems to occur around people who are that famous.

Sometimes I think, not that I'd ever be in JKR's position, but if I was I would find and recruit a group of the most cynical of my fans to rip apart everything I ever wrote. :D

Not to but in or anything, but I'm pretty certain that with Ann Rice it was completely official, although at least at the instigation of Ann herself.

Well, Anne Rice is a special case, on account of she is batshit insane and everything.

fera...

I've waited to catch up with the Uberwank before commenting, so I'm here now!

I have LMAO throughout and admire your little editorial additions that compliment your wank so well! I think the next time I have the urge to re-read DH, I'll re-read this instead!

I love your HS pic, by the way. How brave of you to post it! Without the glasses, you'd be a dead ringer for Young!Snape (and I mean that in the "*nicest* possible way", as Dame Edna would say!)

Aw, thanks! I'm so glad you're enjoying this. ♥

The thing with the picture is - I had forgotten it even existed until about a year ago when my folks moved house and it turned up in a long-forgotten box of school photos. I found it and doubled up laughing for about ten minutes. :D

Quite simply, LOL and bravo.

The whole Snape/Lily-despite-James thing really reminded me of Turpin/Lucy-despite-Benjamin thing in Sweeney Todd, and HOW CONVENIENT for Turpin to also be played by Alan Rickman! Must be his thang. No idea if you're as into Sweeney Todd as I am, but it parallels it completely, and Johanna (STFU Johanna) can be Harry, wangsting and all, having Snape/Turpin being a twat to her all the live long day because she reminds him of Benjamin/Sweeney/James.

Ahem, I really must shut up.

Oohh and also, I totally read the part saying "and her family, because, remember, Dumbledore is a Good Guy" as "remember, Dumbledore is a Good Gay". Which I think also stands, quite frankly.

First things first, icon love.

I've never seen Sweeney Todd, and now I feel silly for that. It's going on my list. As for Dumbledore - he is, I think, quite a good gay, but not an ideal one. He's a little bit too celibate, for a start. :D

Thanks for commenting. :)

:o YAY! Someone on the planet has heard of Russell Howard! Well, maybe you have, or maybe it's just because it's a fun icon - whatever.

Secondly, yes you MUST see Sweeney Todd! I might be reading into it too much, but I bet you of all people will totally notice the similarities when you do see it. :P (PS. Parental guidance needed for Alan Rickman's HORRENDOUSLY tight shiny gold trousers...)

Haha, a bit celibate indeed! A friend and I solved this problem on the Sims by making a homo house next door to our Hogwarts, full of delightfully stereotypical manwhores to satisfy Dumby's needs. :D

*shuts up rambling* Much love to you xx

I ♥ Russell Howard! And Mock the Week too. It was a guilty pleasure at first, but now I just love it. (Did you see Russell talking about going to a midnight bookshop opening to pick up DH? It made me ♥ him even more.)

Man... if I wasn't already interested enough in Sweeney Todd - Alan Rickman in gold trousers! (Well, it can't be any worse than the smooth crotch thing going on in Dogma.)

♥ to you too, my dear. x
