So for the last couple of years I've mostly been posting at my blog - http://www.feoh.org - and hadn't realized that recently my LJ cross poster had stopped working

I actually post on dreamwidth, though it crossposts here fairly transparently and I read and comment in both places. I mostly expect to continue to do so, though there's enough of a critical mass on dreamwidth at this point that if livejournal suddenly explodes in (even more) suck I'm willing to drop it.
So I have no problem with crossposting, the only issue I've had is that sometimes people post once, echo everywhere, and then don't read the responses, or you never know WHERE to leave the response because someone's client is crossposting to G+/Facebook/Twitter/yada.
Also if I subscribe to you in all those places then I get to see your post 9 times :)
I stopped posting to LJ and made all my existing posts "private" some while ago. I'm unlikely to resume blogging elsewhere. I have problems with how Facebook does business so it's very unlikely that I will ever open an account there. I have an account at LinkedIn under my real name but other than that I'm unlikely to expand my participation in social media. I just don't see the point.
I have a Dreamwidth account for LJ-type stuff but haven't been using it... I really should get off my butt and move over there, and just use LJ for cross-posting. I do not trust that LJ will last forever, and when it goes there will likely be no warning.
At the same time, knowing that LJ is under more or less constant attack by the Russian authorities, I'm keeping my paid membership as a small contribution to free speech :)
I also am on FB under my real name but am much more careful about what I post there.
