Birthday! TV or $1 Million?

Jul 22, 2007 00:45

Happy Day After HP Day to those who celebrate. And --

Happy Birthday, aninnocent!
I hope you have a great day, a spectacular year (Europe!), and an AWESOME Comic-Con! And that I get to see you for more than just a few seconds :)

In a changeup from the usual TVBF fare, here's some modern art -- actually, it's a photo of Vodka through a microscope.

No, really :P )

poll, birthday

So, no deal. Honestly? I don't think I could do it for ten years. Even five. One? Yes. I could do it for one. Maybe two. But it would be HARD. And yes, I'm well aware of what that says about me, but I don't care.

Yeah, that makes two of us. I would go stark-raving mad without my daily...um... 5 hours (okay, 6 hours) ;-) And no DVDs? I am always re-watching one show or the other from beginning to end (currently Angel and BSG). Its a good thing I am a stay-at-home mom with lots of time on my hands. ;-)

What if Joss came back to television? What if he brought Nathan with him?

From your keyboard to the gods ears. So say we all.

Me, too :) Usually Firefly or Sports Night. No huge series re-watches, yet, but I want to!

Right? I liked Drive well enough, but mostly, I was thrilled that Nathan had another series. I'd love to see him on my screen once a week :)

Yes! I actually liked drive and Nathan's character had so much potential. Watching him in Firefly/Serenity is so amazing. He has the ability to make me smile and cry all in one line.

Oh, yeah I just finished a Firefly re-watch and me and hubby watched Serenity last weekend. :loves:

The only reason I say I could do it for one year is that I think I could find people who, for that amount of time, culd record the shows I was interested in, plus I know lots of my regulars will come out on DVD anyway. But there's a cost/benefit thing, and I love TV too much to give it up forever. It's like that study that said you could basically eat cardboard (some kind of taste-free fiberboard, actually) and live to be 111. If I make it to 110, maybe I'll give it a try. Otherwise, I'd rather enjoy life, thanks.

Oh, definitely, that was a GIVEN. So it would be like Doctor Who and other shows where I'm behind everyone else, but for ALL my shows. Doable, but still hard :|

I'd rather enjoy life, thanks.
That's it in a nut. TV's not the only thing I wouldn't give up for a million dollars. Although, TV's probably the only thing I'd only give up for a year, heh. Film, books, music, travel... I could probably go longer. The million bucks would help :)

See, but then you get into the whole debate about what actually constitutes watching TV. Like, I think I could give it up for the rest of my life if I had DVDs of TV shows, or recordings...but take away ALL TV EVER, and...not so much. MOSTLY BECAUSE OF THE AFOREMENTIONED DEAN AND SAM. :D

Heh, people keep missing the not-so-small print in which I said:

"I mean give it ALL up. No DVDs, no downloads, nada. If it's made for TV, you give it UP."

In which case, my answer is an emphatic NO, because YES, I must have DEAN. And he and SAM are a PACKAGE DEAL. (Heh, I said "package". *is twelve*)

HAHA, YOU'RE RIGHT. I have no reading comprehension skills! MAAAAAN. That's bad. I WAS TOO EXCITED BY THE POLL, OKAY? AND THE PROSPECT OF JENSEN'S PACKAGE. ;)

Hee, no worries! I would totally look for a loophole. A way to get Dean AND my million bucks. But I really wanted y'all (and me) to think about it. I mean, I'd give up books (Erm, I kinda mostly have, but I'm trying to get back on the horse!), film, music, or travel for a year, no question. Maybe more. Maybe longer. But TV? A year, maybe two. For a million. Or Sam's life or Dean's soul, but other than that? Oh, HELL no :)

I would. Because it says give up TV, not give up DVDs or the Internet. I got myself a loophole, yo.

Ah, but I said "...give it ALL up. No DVDs, no downloads, nada. If it's made for TV, you give it UP." Because I am a loophole closer ;) So, could you still do it?
