.o3 - Little Discoveries

[There's a bit of static and some odd noises before the signal clears- hello Mayfield, Reeve's just discovered how to filter crap through the phone systems.]

[Filtered AWAY from Drones]Clever tricks this place plays. I don't mind my 'job' so much- repairing watches is pretty much child's play- but coming back to a house full of drones makes me ( Read more... )

Ah used t'be able to call on spirits an' stuff, but Ah can't now fer some reason. Ah ain't even got mah instrument, so even if Ah could, Ah probably wouldn' be'a much use.

Spirits? Like summons? Shiva and Alexander were really the only ones i was ever good with, but sometimes I could manage Bahamut...

What sort of instrument do you need? Do you have other talents- a job, a course of study, anything? Even the small things can be useful.

Er... None'a 'em sound familiar. More like dead people, Ah guess?

[The thought of being useful actually cheers her and she manages a light hearted giggle.]

Well Ah ain't half bad at actin', either. Mah friends an' Ah used t'put on all sorts'a plays an' stuff back home.

Speaking with the dead? Fascinating.

Acting? Actually, acting can be very useful in some situations. How old are you, miss?

I'm doing okay. I've been wandering around mostly and trying to stay out of sight, since I don't really want to go to school.

I don't have my powers here. I stared at the neighbor for an hour, and nothing ever happened. I have training is just about every weapon though, and in espionage.

[amused] They have schools here?

Weapons training is useful, and so is espionage. I- well, my better half was better with spying than I am.

What was staring supposed to accomplish?

I didn't want to wait around to find out.

Fury trained me to kind of be a sort of super soldier, after my dad's training, of course.

I'm... The god of fear.

... super-soldiers? Please tell me they didn't run human experimentation on you as well....

[Yeah, he might sound a tiny bit alarmed at that.]

The god of fear...? I don't understand.

It was awesome to get to talk to someone who didn't seem too crazy, here!

I'm a ninja so I have a ton of powers and talents and stuff, but the only thing I can seem to do here is my kage bunshin...

I'm glad I didn't seem too crazy.

... kage bun- buun- what does that whatever-you-call-it do?

kageintraining January 8 2010, 05:35:19 UTC
Nope! No crazier than most of the people I get to talk to.

Kage bunshin? You've never heard of it? It's really, really awesome! I'll show it to you sometime. It lets me have as many clones of myself as I want!

... I'm not sure if that's a compliment or not.

Clones of yourself? How interesting. I'll have to see it- I'd like to see how that works. There could be multiple uses for something like that....

Talents? Do you mean... just in general, sir? Some of us, I think, are just normal.

felis_fidelus January 8 2010, 05:35:57 UTC
In general, miss. While having abilities beyond the norm are useful, sometimes it takes the ordinary to truly achieve the extraordinary. As it stands, I'm just normal myself.

Oh, well then I guess-- I like to perform, so I guess I'd be talented at that. Also with math and chemistry, I think.

I belong to my school's scholastic decathlon team. Would something like that be of any help?

Acting, mathematics, and chemistry are all useful things, yes. Any knowledge in the sciences can come in handy- you never know when a seemingly useless bit of trivia might be meaningful.

May I ask your name, miss?

Robotics? I happen to be highly specialized in that too.

Really? May I ask what type? I specialize in artificial intelligence systems and androids, myself.

Miniaturization, mass production, and giant mecha!

felis_fidelus January 8 2010, 05:47:22 UTC
Fascinating. Mass production is a bit ahead of our capabilities at home, and miniaturization is so useful in espionage....

... giant mecha? How giant are we talking?
