I just need windows to be able to ping and address my linux machine by name and not IP. From windows, I can ping the machine but when I try "ping linux", I get "unknown host linux". I upgraded successfully from Fedora Core 2 to Fedora Core 4 from CD with little hassle (some non-standard RPMs had to be rebuilt/reinstalled). I've decided to upgrade from Fedora Core 2 to Fedora Core 4 with the CDs after all.

I've got all of the ISOs downloaded and verified:$ sha1sum -w -c SHA1SUM
FC4-i386-disc1.iso: OK
FC4-i386-disc2.iso: OK
FC4-i386-disc3.iso: OK
FC4-i386-disc4.iso: OK
FC4-i386-rescuecd.iso: OK

I'm on Fedora Core 2, and I'd like to upgrade to Fedora Core 4. However, I don't want to have to burn all of the CDs in order to do so. Is there a media-less way to do this? Like... through up2date or yum?
