BookCrossing meet-up on Tuesday was good. Had a good chat about westerns with kensey_river, and was unfortunately misheard by Alex26 in my comment on her new haircut.

She turned up, looking fabulous with a short haircut. I thought she looked great, but was a bit surprised by the new look. I thought it might be a practical haircut for the Great North Run (a half-marathon she and her mates are doing for charity). So I made a flippant, running-related comment.
She looked a little askance at this. Now it wasn't a particualrly clever comment, but it wasn't insulting. Anyhow, she got herself (and me) a drink. When she came back she said;
"Actually, that is the funniest thing anyone's said about the hair".
"What?" I asked.
"That I look like a member of the Lesbian Resistance!".
What I had actually said was; "good haircut for running. Less wind resistance"...
Luckily we both saw the funny side.
