Aww, poop, not a good rendition of O Canada? I love that song! Can't wait to see it. Am kinda bitter that it's tape delayed here even though we're on BC time!!

really? That sucks. :(

The arrangement was just way too slow and meh. The lady had a beautiful voice, but the song itself...well, eh. I didn't like it. :D

Overall I thought it was really good! Parts of it were just breathtaking. Despite the anthem. :D

Nobody I've talked to yet has liked the anthem. Sigh. Why mess with a good thing?!
I tweeted through it - twitter was insane, it was awesome - and had many of the same reactions as you! 'Cause dude, RICK HANSEN!!! So excited to see him!

I forgot about Twitter, I had enough to do keeping up with LJ and Ravelry. :D

Rick Hansen...when he was on his Man in Motion world tour he came through Winnipeg and stopped at my elementary school so I have fond memories of him. Plus he always seems like a genuine and really nice guy. Love him!

Holy god, there's a name I haven't heard since I was much, muuuuuuch younger. :o It actually took a moment for it to click.

This is one of the few times in my life when I'm sad I don't get television. Sure, it'll eventually be online but still - would be nice to have seen it with everybody else.

ctvolympics.ca - live feeds of events. I don't have cable either, so that's how I watched last night!

I have to say that the whole thing almost made me wish I was Canadian. Or at least made me want to visit. :)

I have to admit, they touched on pretty much every aspect of Canadian life that make me fiercly proud to be Canadian - BC west coast forests, the prairies, whales, the North - and there were parts where I was literally gasping with awe. I think they did a fantastic job of capturing what makes us Canada.

You should definitely visit. Canada is awesome. ;)
