Why thank you. :D I realized that one of my problems doing this post that I didn't encounter in the BSG one was, I just wanted to quote things.
Ahhhh, I love the hat. It's from towards the end. "The Message" I believe. (I tend to rewatch the show once a year and I have the books with the scripts in them). I'm not sure I got the quote word for word, but that's the gist of it.
You're entire list is awesome, especially the Jayne bits.
I really wish that Zoe/Wash could've had a second season, because while I liked both of them seperatly (and very much so!) I never quite got a feel for how they worked as a couple, beyond the snark that is ;) I have no doubt that it did work...I just never got whys.
I could however, go on for days about all of the tech!squee in this show. From Serenity herself, as you've so beautifully noted, to the hopper and the Alliance ships and Reavers and squeeee.
The themesong was actually what got me interested in the show, someone made a fanvid and I was what is this epic from?
Favorite Firefly Things That didn't make the list: Badger and The Reavers! I sympathize with having to only chose eight things for this show, it's so awesome.
