This was a very Lorelai-centric chapter, and that was a good thing. I like how she's just there for both of them--for Luke, and for Jess, and neither are retreating too far into themselves to push her away. There was too much I loved to comment on everything but I'm going to try. Loved Lorelai suggesting Dean because he's harmless toward Rory but would be dangerous to anyone threatening her. I liked Lorelai and Jess's little bonding moments. It's almost like she's trying to be there for him in a way that Liz never was. It's interesting that Lorelai commented (in her thoughts) on how different Jess was as the vulnerable little boy needing--craving--that physical comfort right after the event and how he is now. He's no less vulnerable but now he's put a little bit of that wall back up. I like how she keeps coming back to Rory, and wanting to protect her kid from the same unspeakable horror that happened to Jess ( ... )

Totally coherent, yes, and wonderful! Thank you so much!

I'm kind of in love with the idea of Lorelai sliding into a maternal role with Jess without really even realizing that she's doing it, but he needs someone so much she can't help but be there for him. I'm glad that it's working in the story, and it is a huge, huge compliment that you think it feels real. Thank you always forever for the awesome feedback you leave. :D

I don't even know what to say. Except this is quite possibly the most vivid, the most horrifying, and the most awesome thing I've ever read, especially in this fandom ( ... )

Wow, thank you so much. I'm honestly a bit overwhelmed at the moment at the amount and the quality of feedback I've been getting for this because, while I've been a fan of Gilmore Girls for a long time, I only just recently got into the fandom, and I wasn't expecting it to be so active for a show that's been off the air for more than a year. So, ha, I'm not really sure why I'm rambling about this except maybe as a way to explain why I'm so incoherent.

Thank you, thank you, for this feedback. I feel like I'm sort of winging it with a lot of this, especially since the characters were never in situations anything like this on the show - and super especially since it's such a serious subject - so it's inexpressibly uplifting and encouraging to know that people think I'm capturing the characters well. :D

In conclusion, ♥
