It's very strange for a German to see human ashes sent by mail.

German funeral laws are super strict.

They had to do it a special way here too. That's one of the reasons every side of the box is marked that way as they have to be very clear what is inside.
That was part of the delay in getting them shipped is they had to find someone who knew how to do all the special paperwork.
But, going in person would be difficult as it would be 3500km round trip. So, I wanted to avoid the drive if I could.
