The World's Greatest Slacks

Feb 28, 2012 09:38

If you all are anything like me, you spend your days wandering aimlessly through the mall in a fog of Cinnabon waftings and despair. Why? Because it's dang-diggity impossible to find a freaking pair of slacks that look nice for work. I don't get it! I mean, I can find jeans I like just fine, but- for whatever reason- work pants and me are not ( Read more... )

I wish they carried different inseams! I'm pushing 6' and have really long legs; I've even tried on Tall/Long inseam pants before that were too short. But I'm glad you found great pants!!

The second pair are longer definitely, but only by a few inches. They have about another inch on the seam that could be let down, but not much more :(

Hmm, okay! The first ones are listed as 32" and the second are 31". I'll probably check Macy's out soon regardless, though!

You know how these things go-- they'll be listed as one thing, then you'll get them and they'll either be up to your knees or dragging on the floor :).

But yeah, I'm certainly not going to lie and say these are long- I mean, if they were, they wouldn't fit me. Still, who knows, you might be able to find a longish pair in the store, then alter them a bit? Anyway, hopefully there will come a time you can walk in, grab something right of the rack, and call it a day. Heck, hopefully that'll happen for all of us.

You are far too kind. If I really were that awesome, I'd be the Oprah of pants-- just running around, throwing awesome pants at everyone, shouting, "AND PANTS FOR YOU! AND PANTS FOR YOU! YOU GET PANTS! AND YOU GET PANTS, TOO!!!!!"

Heh, that was a lovely cheering piece to read. Do you mean to say these things don't cling to your butt to make sure to show your panty line?

They are snug (in a flattering way) without being all up in your business (in a painted on way). For example, last night I tried on pants at Penny's which went way up my butt. Like, way up. Up in that way where you could clearly see my full crack, as well as some rounded cheek on either side of that crack. Classy enough image for you?

Anyway, these pants are not like that. Snug on the outer curve, but certainly not tight. They also aren't sucked all up in your booty, either.

The first pair are a little shorter than the second pair. For me, I'm wearing the first pair with flats and the second pair are perfect with heels.

Noooooo, their rise is too high! Due to how my belly fat is situated, I like medium-rise pants so they'll sit just below my belly and I'm not constricted. (Old Navy's Flirt jeans are the perfect rise for me.)

Glad they work for you, though!

that's so interesting how us fats like to wear our pants. i feel like i like high rise because i like to make sure all my fat is covered and sucked in lol so i buy my pants that go over my entire body.

Right? I'm with you. I like mine a little higher (but not, say, Lane Bryant high, which happens to be directly under my titties high), just because low creates an awkward "front butt" situation for me. I've seen other girls that probably weigh as much as me or more, but just have it distributed differently-- and they wear their pants under their bellies and it looks fabulous.
