I think one thing that needs to be brought to light here (like with bold, flashing text and running lights, if possible) is that if there's a grievance with a way the community is running/post content/etc. -- it needs to be brought up with the mods.
Okay, since it'll be thrown out here anyways and I am sort of courious: this does apply to everyone who's not a mod, yes? And someone will probably ask if it's retro active. Tell me it's not cause retro active rules are bullshit.
Not retroactive, because that's just bizarre. This applies to everyone, period. Mods only delete posts that are defaced (and only then because we can't edit them) and even comments by overt trolls aren't deleted, just screened, so only the mods and OP can see them. We also occasionally freeze comments but that doesn't happen real often anymore.
Are you sure that's still the case? Once upon a time you couldn't edit posts as a maintainer and these days you can - found this out recently for a comm i now mod.
I can understand mods not wanting to, but I thought I'd let you know that you can (only not in the html section, but the rich text tab)
does this apply to recent rule breakings RE: disabling and deleting comments, etc? while retro-active rules are, generally speaking, kind of crap, sometimes it's a necessary evil.
I can't get behind applying rules retroactively, it's like asking people to see into the future. So, no, past offenders will get grandfathered in with warnings, and only new posts are subject to the new rules.
Would it be asking too much to have a standard guideline for lj-cut? Like, one photo outside a cut, then the rest behind a cut? I'm sure I'm not the only person that checks my flist from my phone, and scrolling past loads of photos is a little obnoxious.
Actually, yes. This was supposed to be in the post above as well. We're going to ask that folks only post one image outside a cut, which most people do anyway.
In lieu of editing the above again, I'll elaborate on this in a separate announcement post later tonight or over the weekend, when I'm not trying to do ten things at once.

Also: sadly, the last time I used a flashing font in a mod announcement, people complained and I had to turn it off. Bummer.

Better yet would be all photos behind the cut.
