Can you please put a warning before or in the cut tag that what's behind the cut may be triggery for some people? Because I really, really, really didn't need to see that.

This part actually offended me more than that stupid list:

Name:
All Fat Chicks stay at home...thats an order!

Type:
Just for Fun - Outlandish Statements

Description:
Im sure im not the only man on this planet who deep down truly hates fat chicks.

There are very few things that are more unappealing than when you go out at night and have to look at an army of fat chicks walking down the street being loud and wearing cloths that would look tight even on Sienna Miller.

I believe that a law should be put into place that bans all girls of a certain body/fat ratio from leaving their homes. Only when they have finally dropped the weight can they leave their house and return to civilization.

This could also go for guys as well but my experince of fat guys is that they dont normally wear stupid tight cloths and think they are sexy like stupid fat slags do. So therefore the rule is void on men.

If you are a fat chick please please please stop insulting my eyes by walking around in public...your only shaming yourself.

I don't know about you, but i've never known any human being to wear a 'cloth' in my life.

The sad thing is, I don't think this is confined to college campuses. It just looks that way on Facebook because it's not likely that someone not in high school or college would have a Facebook. I wouldn't be surprised if a search for "fat" here on LJ turned up similar things (sorry, I'm too scared to look myself, my mood is bad enough as it is right now). Personally, I think you're 100% correct that groups like the one you linked should be included in policies against attacking specific people/groups. Unfortunately, though, I also think that weight discrimination is the only/one of the only forms of discrimination still widely accepted in society. Obviously racism and sexism and the like exist, but if we were to take that lovely list of rules in the link you posted and substitute a specific race, religion, etc. for "fat," I'd like to think that the membership list would be much shorter and that the Facebook maintainers would have come down on the group ASAP. That's because society has declared racism, sexism, etc. to be unacceptable ( ... )

I don't even have to search, unless it's been removed there's a "fat rejection" community on here.

That's sad. I seem to remember a bunch of anti-fat groups from when I first joined LJ, but I haven't had the courage to look since.

I particularly like how he keeps writing "body/fat percentage," as though it's a body-to-fat percentage. Because fat is not part of a body.

Report it, and meanwhile keep this on hand in case anyone tells you you're being paranoid about fatphobia.

I'm not sure if I have a facebook account or not, but I may create one just to report it.

"...but I may create one just to report it."

i totally did! it's probably the only thing i'll ever use it for, but it felt pretty good.

Er, body-to-fat ratio, even. I just read this over.

Like any other kind of bigotry, fat-bias can manifest itself in some pretty frightening forms. Last year I had a 15 minutes of fame incident where I got to appear on TV, and the subsequent discussions on forums related to the activity involved was filled with hate speech against fat women including suggestions that all fat women should die or be killed. I have to say that experience was very depressing and emotionally difficult for me, but has in the end been a little bit empowering as well ( ... )
