Just my take on a recent quote. Any lack of resemblance to to Rand Paul and my characterization can be blamed on a) my dubious artistic talents and b) aside from the fact that he looks like he's carrying a tribble around on his head, he's a pretty bland looking fellow, and therefore not much to work with.

Robert McCall 1919-Infinity R.I.P.
I just heard today on NPR that space artist Robert McCall died on February 28 of this year. Though his name might not be well known, just about everyone has seen his art. If you've ever been fortunate enough to the National Air and Space Museum in Washington, (I haven't), that giant mural that you saw was his. He has other murals in various ( Read more... ) -

Isaac Asimov 90 year anniversary
Today is the day that Isaac Asimov would have celebrated his 90th birthday. I say "would have celebrated" because he was born in Petrovichi in the U.S.S.R and in those days the Soviet Union used the Juilan calendar instead of the Gregorian, and his parents didn't even pay much attention to the Julian, dating things by the Holy days of the Jewish ( Read more... ) -

Idle Thought
Today I got stopped by a funeral procession. You know, a hearse followed by all the cars with their lights on, and I suddenly thought, "Man, when I die, I want my funeral to be at night. That way some poor bastard going the other direction will be stuck there all night thinking,'Damn! How many friends did this guy have?'"
