"Sure?" Steve said, biting his lower lip as he leaned over to remove Tony's helmet. Realistically, he knew that it wasn't going to be something he wanted to see, but he felt the duty to check.

It was certainly not what they found beneath the metal back when they fought the Chitauri. Instead it was sunken flesh, slashed deeply with reds and and golds as though the armor was cutting into him bit by bit.
