The Park, Sunday Morning

Nov 27, 2011 10:20

Billy had tried meditating today to try to 'keep calm and carry on', but that had not worked. The feeling of helplessness had demanded he at least do something active, so instead, he was doing katas by the pond. He'd started with the most basic, and as he finished each one, he started a more complicated one. It was helping.

Leda was brooding over everything she had learned last night. Unable to sleep any more, she had decided to go for a walk to clear her head. Her feet took her to the park after a quick stop at JGoB.

Billy didn't recognize the girl, but he recognized battle scars when he saw them, and gave her a nod as she passed by.

Leda for her part thought the boy looked vaguely familiar. Perhaps she'd seen him around...Oh.

It hit her then that she had 'met' him before. Or a version of him. She reminded herself that he was out in the sunlight.

"Morning."

Shira was feeling restless and helpless. She couldn't take care of the helpless bit, but the restless could easily be taken care of by getting herself out and about for a while.

So out she went, intending on going for a jog in the park or something along those lines. Instead she got distracted by watching Billy and what he was doing.

Oops. She'd tried.

Billy reached the end of the kata, and was actually, feeling a bit better.

He noticed he had an audience, and waved. "Hi there." Yet another person he didn't recognize. "You a student?"

Shira nodded. "I am," she said. "And you are not."

Astute, this one.

"Which means you're an alumnus."

"That is what I am." Billy nodded. "Billy Kessler, Class of '08 at your service."
