There was a bull-size wolf moving through town. The fact that some people might end up thinking he was a monster had occurred to Jacob, but his sense of self preservation was very much skewed. Besides, how many monsters did you know that walked around with a cut off pair of jeans attached to his hind leg by a gas mask. Luckily there was no droid ( Read more... )

Bod was not wearing a mask. He knew he probably should have heeded some of the warnings but he was too...curious about the effects of this fog to dull his senses. After all, he didn't plan on staying out long.

It was proving difficult to see, difficult to even move and he'd resorted to waving a hand in front of him to try and disperse some of the fog as he walked.

"This is unreal," he muttered, watching his feet as he walked to make sure he didn't trip over anything errant.

[SP cuz of work but who could resist hallucinating roommates even if one is in wolf form?]

Jacob heard the voice quite clearly and recognised the scent. He should have run, taken off, but his roommate was out in this thing and he didn't quite like his chances if Bod ran into one of those dinosaur things.

The indecision had probably made it too late anyway and Jacob held his spot, lowering his head to look less intimidating as he peered ahead in the mist.

[Hallucinating roomies for the win!]

Bod couldn't be sure if he was hallucinating yet because he hadn't seen anything but the thick, black fog. Even so, he found himself blinking to keep his vision clear.

When he thought he caught sight of...something up ahead, he stopped and kept still. Mentally, he cursed for the inability to Fade. Outwardly, he breathed quietly and tried to will himself to see what was near.

Jacob's ear pricked up as the sound faded. Was he hallucinating already? But so far he'd imagined vampire scents, not human ones. He moved forward, slowly and quietly as not to startle anyone.

The baby godzilla was out for blood, having failed the master when the wolves had not. Blame a poor sense of smell and an island fully of shiny objects.

Spotting an oversized version of his foul beast brothers, the godzilla roared, calling it to battle!

Jacob raised his head at the sound and even in a fog this thick, he could already make out the huge shape.

His hackles raised and he let out a snarl in response, but kept his ground for the moment just in case he was making this thing up from his previous battle.

The snarling wolf was greeted by the thunder of meaty legs lumbering toward him at a surprisingly speedy pace. The baby's tail flicked to and fro, excited to give this monster a taste of the master's fury.

He could feel the vibrations under his paws. Not a hallucination then, which meant it was play time.

Jake pushed up from his crouch and raced to meet the godzilla head on, jumping up last minute to try to sink his teeth in the creature's neck if he could.

Jennifer was probably foolish to be out in the fog alone. But she knew other people were out there alone, and she was going to face her fears and go out and make sure people were safe.

So also out on the streets was a near seven-foot green giantess, who was definitely no monster.

The one thing she wasn't expecting to see was a giant wolf. Seriously, that was one big wolf.

"...I feel like I should be wearing a big red cloak with a hood," she said.

It was surprising Jacob hadn't had a Red Riding Hood joke before, but at least it beat having to go through the "I'm not a real monster" thing. He hoped.

He grinned at Jennifer, looking rather amused for a big ass wolf.

Jennifer tilted her head. That was definitely a different look for a big animal. And it wasn't attacking her, so she wasn't entirely sure whether it was even real or not.

"Hey wolfie," she greeted. "Don't suppose I know you, huh? Run around here often?"

He whuffed at her, as if to say that yes, yes they met. He shifted a little, showing his hind leg with the jeans and mask tied around it, hoping she'd get the hint that he was a student.

There was no halting fighters from doing their best to fight back against the things attacking their island home, and Dimitri was no different, spending his day in the fog now that he was better equipped with a mask against the breathable compulsion, thanks to his novice.

Emerging from the thick fog, Dimitri paused at the sight of the familiar wolf.

For a moment Jake thought he needed to head back already and get some pure oxygen as the vampire scent increased. Except that it wasn't a full vampire scent, but that familiar mix that he'd learn to distinguish talking to Rose.

This wasn't Rose, but the other one and he raised himself, looking at Dimitri but making no attempt to attack him. That'd just be repeating themselves.

Dimitri eyed Jacob, the memory of their first meeting was a strong one. But today there was a different sort of enemy at hand. "I believe we're on the same side today." Dimitri believed they were always on the same side, but convincing a werewolf of that fact was not on his to-do list today.

One nod of his head was Dimitri's reply, a strangely human gesture for a wolf. Then again, the jeans weren't all the common either.

Triela was out in the streets once again. And she was still quite pissed at the fog. How was she supposed to shoot things with visibility so poor?

Her scowl was hidden underneath her mask, and she kept her weapon at the ready. It wouldn't do be caught unprepared, especially since anything she encountered was likely to be at close range.

She also kept her eye out for other students or adults from the island. It wouldn't do to shoot one of them, either.

After the morning's craziness, Jak...

... was still out on the streets. With his blaster gun, and the red laser scope attached. It cut a figure against the fog, that was for sure. Sneaking.

Triela stopped walking suddenly and cocked her head. She thought she heard a footstep.

Was that... a spotting laser?

... Was there something there?

"If you're human, let me know," he snapped.
