Sixth Floor Kitchen - Thursday Afternoon

The events of last week had triggered Claire's domestic instincts so after a trip to town for supplies, she set up shop in the new kitchen, cooking up pounds of pasta and three different kinds of sauce - a regular tomato, a four cheese and a pesto.

She also had salad and hot, crusty Italian bread.

Hurley had wandered up, to finally check out the big kitchen properly.

"Oh, hey Claire," he said.

"...having a dinner party?"

"Not necessarily," Claire said. "Just felt like cooking for everyone."

"Cool," Hurley said. Pause. "You didn't, like, sense a need for lots of pasta, did you?"

Yes, he was still convinced Claire was psychic.

Claire gave him a confused look because she had completely forgotten about telling him that. "Uh, no? It just seemed like something easy to cook for a lot of people."

Elle didn't have classes or a job, so therefore, she figured she'd check out everything on the sixth floor.

She got distracted by the kitchen.

"Oh, please tell me you're gonna share."

"I think that's her plan," Hurley said. He looked confused, a moment. "...aren't you one of the teachers?"

"Nope," Elle said cheerfully. "That's Veronica. I'm Elle."

"Oh," Hurley said. "Your sister or something?"

"Sorry I'm late," Maron said, poking her head around the door. "I got caught up in work and lost track of time."

"I'm just glad you made it!" Claire said. "There's a ton!"

"Maybe you need signs," she teased. "Signs that say 'free food up here' and that'd convince people to climb the stairs."

"I was just trying to convince Hurley to make some!" Claire joked.

Ellie was debating baking cookies, so she decided that was a good excuse to check out the new kitchen. She was pleasantly surprised to be greeted by the aroma of Italian food.

"Hey," she greeted cheerfully. "Need any help?"

Claire grinned. "I hope you brought your appetite."

"If I didn't have one before, I do now," Ellie replied. "It smells really good in here."

"Thanks," Claire said. "I felt like doing something domestic."

If Leda seemed slightly on edge, she'd claim it was due to all the coffee she'd drunk. The Coffee was actually another symptom, not the cause, but she'd never admit that.

"Hey Clair! Something smells delightful."

"Hey, Leda," Claire waved from the stove. "There's plenty!"

"Cool, thank you. Have you tried the ball pit?"

"No, not yet," Claire said. "Maybe after I eat and clean up."
