Third Floor Common Room - Sunday Morning

Feb 18, 2007 11:21

Aly had woken up very, very hungry.  And she didn't want to wake up Mommy.  That would be bad.

So instead she was very, very sneaky - she was going to be a spy after all and Daddy said she could be pretty too! - and crept out of the room until she found one of the big rooms with food in there.   She was awfully disappointed not to see Bridge ( Read more... )

Zuko stumbled into the common room, not fully awake yet. He headed towards the kitchen to try and find some breakfast and blinked when he noticed a small kid trying to beat him to the punch.

Aly was perfectly capable of getting food on her own of course. She was THIS MANY. But when she turned around and saw an adult she knew that seemed like a much easier way to get some.

"Zuko!" she squealed. "Hi!"

That was one way to wake up completely. "Do I know you?"

"Uh huh!" she said proudly. "'M Aly!"

"Aly," Molly said carefully, not wanting to startle her "what are you doing?"

Aly wasn't startled a bit. But she turned around so quickly that it probably looked a bit precarious. She beamed at Molly. "'M hungry! The good food's always up top!"

Molly quickly stepped forward and put her hands out in case Aly lost her balance. "Would you like me to lift you up so that you can look for it?" she asked with a grin.

"Okay!" Aly said, seeing the open arms and falling into them anyway. Completely trusting child? Check.

Maybe...maybe it was still too early for him, but Chad was pretty sure that, when he came into the common room, there was a little girl climbing all over the kitchen. He scratched his head a little, as if trying to figure it out, but the combination of sleepiness and just plain natural slowness made things a wee bit difficult.

Aly didn't notice him quite at first because she was far too busy digging into the very back of the cupboard to see if there were cupcakes living back there. Cause those were the breakfast of champions.

Chad was getting this whole picture in his head of the little girl digging really far and actually ending up in the cupboard itself, which would just be way too adorable, so he just kind of hung back and waited to see it that would happen.

Come on! Little kid in a cupboard! Frickin' adorable!

She wasn't quite small enough to fit into the cupboard, but after she'd exhausted the first shelf, Aly decided to climb onto that one to look up at the very top shelf. Maybe the cupcakes were living there.

A still kinda sick Jim wandered into the common room in search of coffee.

He blinked and rubbed his eyes. And then rubbed them again.

"I need coffee . . ."

Aly turned around from her perch hanging onto the cupboards and waved. "I like coffee!" she said hopefully. She didn't, but it was a step on the way to hot chocolate.

"Good for you, kid," he muttered, beelining for the coffeemaker.

She watched him carefully, scooting along the counter to get closer to him. "Can I have some, Jim? Or hot choklit?"

Aiden had abadoned her reign over her pillow fort of the night before, in search of food. Here there were people, and where people were, logic told her food could be found.

Aly turned and waved to Aiden. "Hi! Unless you're a mean girl then I don' wanna talk to you."

"Not mean," Aiden declared. Even if she was, why would she admit to it. "Who're you?"

"Good!" Aly said. The mean girl was proud of being mean so Aly figured she was safe. "'M Aly!"
