Third Floor Common Room - Sunday Morning

Aly had woken up very, very hungry.  And she didn't want to wake up Mommy.  That would be bad.

So instead she was very, very sneaky - she was going to be a spy after all and Daddy said she could be pretty too! - and crept out of the room until she found one of the big rooms with food in there.   She was awfully disappointed not to see Bridge

Aiden had abadoned her reign over her pillow fort of the night before, in search of food. Here there were people, and where people were, logic told her food could be found.

Aly turned and waved to Aiden. "Hi! Unless you're a mean girl then I don' wanna talk to you."

"Not mean," Aiden declared. Even if she was, why would she admit to it. "Who're you?"

"Good!" Aly said. The mean girl was proud of being mean so Aly figured she was safe. "'M Aly!"

"I'm Aiden," she said happily.

She has only one thing on her mind right now, though. "D'you have food?"

"Uh huh," Aly said. "There's cereal and cookies and muffins and ice cream!"

"Cookies?" Aiden perked up even more at that. "Oooh." She immeditely headed to stock up on those. Cookies were very important.

Aly solemnly offered Aiden some of her box of chocolate chip cookies. "Now we havta be friends cause I gave you cookies."

Aiden snagged a couple shoving them into the pocket of her pants for later, then picked one to eat.

"We've gotta make a friend handshake, then," she said. "Tha's important."

"Okay," Aly agreed. She held out her hand. "How do we do it?"

"Gotta be special, just for us," Aiden said seriously.

She clapped a couple of times, to get into it or something, then took Aly's hand between hers. "Jus' do what I do."

Aly nodded solemnly. "Very, very special. And we gotta keep it a secret!"

"Uh-huh. 'Cause secret ones are the best ones."

Aiden clapped her hand against Aly's, then brought it up above the other to hit the other, hoping that Aly would catch on and follow her lead.

Aly did, bouncing slightly. "Then we can maybe do this?" With the upper hand, she clasped Aiden's and then slid their hands apart.

Aiden giggled. "And then this?" she said holding both her hands up, palm out towards Aly.

"This is gonna be the best secret han'shake, ever," she declared.

"Uh huh!" Aly agreed, beaming.

She clapped her hands on Aiden's. "And then we...we," she had to think. "We gotta spin around in a circle!"
