Hi everyone. I've just started charting (after having read the book) and once I have it down I'm hoping to use fam as my method of birth control. I have a possibly silly question though

I am like this too. I just take my temp. at the same time every day 6:30 am. And my charts look very clear. They were all over the place when I was taking them the first time I woke up. Like I would go to sleep at 12 and then wake up at 3am and take it. I know they have the rule but mine look good without that rule cause I don't really wake up up. Hope that helps.
It really depends on the person. I find that my temps don't vary much if I wake up for a bit in the middle of the night, or if I wake up early, but for other peiople it throws their temps totally put of whack. I'd try charting for a month and see how it goes. .
I usually don't take it if I'm not getting up out of bed during those times I wake up and then go back to sleep.
Same time should still provide good results, but if you get a confusing chart or erratic temps then you may have to make changes, although I can't suggest any.
Yeah, I would literally never have an accurate temp if that is the case... I wake up too. I think it is just fine, as long as you don't get up and jump on the bed!
People often use FAM after having their first child, and I'm sure they have to get up in the middle of the night often. I get up in the night more often than I'd like, and my rule of thumb is that if it's at least 60-90 minutes before my alarm clock, even if I get up to go to the bathroom or get a drink of water, I go right back to sleep and just take my temp when my alarm does go off. If it's closer to 30 minutes before my alarm clock goes off, I just take my temp then and make a note on my chart.
What will effect temps more is going to bed really late. If I'm used to going to bed before 10, but end up not getting to sleep until 1:30 for some reason (or something like that), my temp may be different, and I'll note that.
