A Late Week Update

Saturday is going to be a depressing day for me.  Mainly because it is Remembrance Day.  I have always found Remembrance Day to be a sobering day for me.  This year its going to be ten times worse since my brother is oversees and in danger.  I got an email from him today that he sent to me along with a few his friends just reminding us about ( Read more... )

I am planning to attend the Waterloo Remembrance Day ceremony (barring I can find the cenotaph which is somewhere down town Waterloo).

I could always bus to meet up wtih you and go to the Kitchener one.

My grandfather fought in WW II with both his older brothers. His oldest brother did not return.

I think I did well today explaining what Remembrance Day is to the four year olds. They wanted to know why everyone was wearing poppies.
They seemed to get it.

People keeps asking why should we remember? Because these people are representing all that this country stands for and more. They did so 50 years ago and they are doing so now.
I wish your brother and everyone else over there did not have to be there, but I accept that those over there are there because they chose to be there by choosing their profession.

Sorry to rant in your comments section.

As you can see I am very passionate about people respecting and honouring those who have served and are serving our country.

I wish they didn't have to do what they did either. Though after talking to my brother and a few other people I know its worth it. My brother said its the oddest thing to helping building roads and schools. That is a lot of what Canadians are doing.

There is a Cenotaph in Waterloo near the city hall. I just have to find out exactly how to get there. I would be more then willing to go with you.

No being depressed!!!!

Yes the fear of losing your brother is real, but he is doing the job he chose to do. Be proud of him, pray for him and those over there with him that they will remain safe and return safe.

One day (probably not in our life time) there will be no war and killing for politics.

I am proud of him and pray that he returns. He is doing the job he volunteered to do. He knew that he'd have to serve over in Afghanistan eventually.
