Coffee update.

It's been a week since my last cup. I still have a caffeine withdrawal headache that comes and goes and comes sticks around goes and then comes back. And I'm getting bursts of "normal" alertness, busts of "this feels like coffee" alertness, and waves of fatigue between them. The automation of the house continues. We can now control the internal and external garage lights.

I've also determined a couple of things about electricians:
* every box I open has a new unpleasant surprise and a new unpleasant puzzle to solve.

I'm getting ads for I think five different "all metal" "get the best shave of your life" "throw away the plastic" razor startups. They all seem to be modern redesigns of the classic single edge safety razor. I would be willing to give them all a try for a month each, but I'm not willing to lay out a hundred bucks each to try them all ( Read more... )

On May 1st, one of my co-residents found one of the feral rabbits that live in the area cuddled up against a corner of the house. It was seriously badly injured, and deeply in shock. Probably got hit by a car.

After some discussion, we put it out of it's misery, and then I carried the remains out to the ravine behind the house and buried it.

February 2nd will always a thoughtful and introspective day for me.

Not because of the silly "sees his shadow, predicts the season" story, and not because of the movie. It's just... a personal anniversary.
