Ah, the road not taken, although unlike Frost's friend [Edward] Thomas, it doesn't sound like there was any indecision on your part: you knew you had to write your talk.
Do you regret the choice? Or do you still wait until the last minute to write your talks? ;)
I don't regret the choice, I regret having foreclosed the choice by my earlier laziness. I'm a professional, and my employer was footing the bill for me to be there.
And generally now, I don't wait for the last minute to write the talk. At least, when it's a public one...
