I've recently found myself in the care of a small bird-- a goldfinch, to be more precise.

Unfortunately, taking care of pets is... not my area of expertise. Would anyone kindly offer their advice?

Birds are a lot different than most pets. They require special care~

You should get some books!

Books were my next resource, if no one here could offer adequate information.

From what I've read, temperature is a big factor in keeping birds safe. They do not do well with cold drafts or other such dramatic fluctuations.

I would advise researching things in your household that could be toxic or harmful.

I'll be certain to ensure the temperature remains comfortable.

I've already been informed that silicon is dangerous to their health.

As are, I believe, a number of other heavy metals.

I'll have to stop by the library tomorrow to conduct more thorough research.

Alright madam. Uhm, first of, I'm Saguru Hakuba, it's a pleasure to meet you. Second, it's and European or American goldfish?

This is one of many sites that helps with general bird care:

For domestic specific Goldfish care, here is one of many sites:

Mitsuru Kirijo. A pleasure. Due to the colors, I believe it's a European one.

Ah, thank you, that's quite helpful.

I'm no expert on birds, but it seems you've been getting a lot of advise already as to their care. If you should have questions, I know that Kaito has hand-reared several doves, so he's intimately familiar with their care.

I don't believe I've met anyone named Kaito.

He's our resident magician, if you want to think of him that way. He's also a terrible prankster, but he's quite well-known throughout the community and most everyone likes him.

I take it someone gave that bird to you as a gift? Few people would actually adopt a pet without knowing anything as to its care and feeding.

It wasn't so much a gift as it was a small animal that followed me home.
