I've recently found myself in the care of a small bird-- a goldfinch, to be more precise.

Unfortunately, taking care of pets is... not my area of expertise. Would anyone kindly offer their advice?

I'm no expert on birds, but it seems you've been getting a lot of advise already as to their care. If you should have questions, I know that Kaito has hand-reared several doves, so he's intimately familiar with their care.

He's our resident magician, if you want to think of him that way. He's also a terrible prankster, but he's quite well-known throughout the community and most everyone likes him.

I take it someone gave that bird to you as a gift? Few people would actually adopt a pet without knowing anything as to its care and feeding.

It wasn't so much a gift as it was a small animal that followed me home.

I was 'coerced' into visiting someone on a different world. He-- I'm sorry, it's a she-- followed me from there.

...I'm beginning to think that bird didn't simply "follow" you home. He probably "sent" it to go along with you.

People usually give gifts to those they wish to court. I think that poem before was indication of his... romantic intentions.
