I love how I'm always doing things I know I'll regret.
When I was a little kid, I intentionally put my finger on a hot skillet that my mom was using. I can't explain it, nor could I then. I knew it would hurt, and it's not like I thought I'd enjoy it at the time, but I still did it. Looking back, pretty much every mistake I've made was entirely foreseeable and preventable. If I had been born on time, I would be 20 today.
It's a good thing that there are people I love, because right now I feel pretty close to hating everyone.
Also, I don't know how I could ever survive without a kitchen.

We had the best ever physics colloquium today. Usually they consist of a bunch of stuff a grad student may or may not have copied from Wikipedia or a lot of technical gibberish related to the research of one of our professors (the grad students are almost always way better), but once in a while we get something interesting. I'm starting to worry too much again. When I was younger I worried a lot that people had been in car accidents, etc. if I couldn't reach them or they were the tiniest bit late for something. I was better for a few years, but now I think I'm starting to relapse.

Afterglow
I have done so much cooking since I've been here...a perk of having a real kitchen and a roommate who keeps all kinds of baking supplies that I could never afford. She has got to be the only person I know who takes a bread maker to college. The only problem I have is I now have more food than I can eat.

Livin' on a Prayer
I don't have time or energy to give a full update unfortunately, but I'll give a short synopsis. I'm actually much happier here than I ever expected to be. I guess having enough space to myself has helped me feel more at home, plus I missed some of my friends a lot more than I realized over the summer. I hate going back to college. I don't particularly like it while I'm there, either. Having a nice apartment is definitely an improvement over last year, but it will do little to counteract the unpleasantness.
