When I was a little kid, I intentionally put my finger on a hot skillet that my mom was using. I can't explain it, nor could I then. I knew it would hurt, and it's not like I thought I'd enjoy it at the time, but I still did it. Looking back, pretty much every mistake I've made was entirely foreseeable and preventable. I really need to work on that.
