Appearance upon arrival: He was shot at close range prior to arrival and had his family threatened, so he’ll be rather worked up and showcasing a nice bloodstain on his chest. The wound itself will be mostly healed, though he won’t be quite ready for brisk exercise just yet.

Personality:In the game, Professor Gast is set up as a contrast to Hojo: while Hojo’s experiments know no bounds, and the compilation has attributed even more misdeeds to a science department with magnificently skewed morals, Gast is conscious of the comfort of subjects. The Jenova project was conducted with Lucrecia’s consent, and though he’s eager to question Ifalna, he also stops sessions when it’s clear the subject upsets her. He was a person you wouldn’t expect to find within Shinra, his priorities reversed from most of the hierarchy’s. Shinra saw science as a means to find more ways to make money, but Gast simply wanted to uncover more of the Planet’s secrets and understan how their world worked. It’s evident by how he continues to inquire after the Cetra even after he’s left Shinra, despite having no project nor the funds to start one, not even a scientific community with which to share what he did learn: he just wants to know. It’s this curiosity that made him such a successful scientist

It’s amazing how the weather here differs so sharply between such small areas. The alpine district is just as brisk as ever-a healthy walk gets your cheeks pink and rosy. But I haven’t seen a single snowflake in the Metropolis district yet. A few showers! [he “sounds” amused, chuckling.] Bring an umbrella if you visit. Still, the weather in nearly every district has been markedly consistent in spite of their variety. It may be worth setting up barometers to track atmospheric pressure… [/brb being geeky; his thoughts briefly ramble on pressure, temperature and wind direction before he focuses again.]
Of course, the wish-granting is even more fascinating than the climate. It’s not just a question of how the city does it, but why. Such a benevolent world…
