Welcome to adulthood! :) The funny thing is...it's never what you think it's gonna when you're on the other side of the line.
People say that hindsight is 20/20, but I think some people are hindsight nearsighted. They don't see the stretch back..It's important to get that perspective.
Now that you're listening for it, that little voice should be easier to hear.
Just remember...Life is what it is. So by virtue of that, We can only be who we are. If you're trying to be someone else anymore, she'll come out.
Good luck, hon! I hope with you all grown up and stuff we can still hang out ever 3 or 4 years. hahaa
Everyone knows you don't really get out of El Paso.
Exactly. And you can never explain it. People will nod like they understand - maybe even think they do understand - but they don't.
I go back once or twice a year. I haven't been gone as long as you - but no, it's not really El Paso any more. It's, er, New Paso, or something. I sort of miss the quaint nothing it was. Now its sort of this...I don't know....gaudy nothing. But still when I'm there I feel at home - and I never know whether to embrace it or fight it.
I love you so much. I am ridiculously happy you are in my life! I need to re-read this post a few times before it will really sink in. It's interesting still living in the same town I was born and grew up in. I'm not sure how to describe it. Sometimes if I turn it on, I see ghosts everywhere - memories... things I did in places I still travel and visit often. But I can't go about my day like that so I keep it off most of the time. Anyway, I'm excited to see you on Monday. <3 <3 <3
