I got a phone call from Mrs. Thomas tonight, Christi's mom.

They chose me as the first recipient of the Christi Thomas Heidelberg Education scholarship!!!  Mrs. Thomas was in tears over the phone as she told me about how everyone loved my essay.  And she can't wait to see me at the Student Awards Ceremony to accept it.

I was at the end of my rope last night.  How could things have possibly gone worse?

I was supposed to spend the evening with Mike.  We made plans.  We were going to watch Narnia.
