Hello! I need your help!! All of you guys.

I am writing a paper for my English class and I need to get some research done. That is where you come in!! I want you to talk about your school (whether you are still in school or not) and tell me about how it works.

Why do I need this? Because we have a lot of friends on here who are not from the US and I ( Read more... )

This definitely helped! thank you so much--I really appreciate you taking the time to tell me.

Its very odd to me that there are more similarities than we are told in class rooms. Though you do go to school much longer--that seems to be the BIGGEST difference. Hmm. Not what I expected. ^_^

School makes me stressed too and I feel the same with homework. But it is good that yours is pretty. That helps a lot.

Thanks again!!

/sweats/ for number two I meant I end at two on fridays. XD You can kill me now.

I go to school much longer? O: I always thought that we started school earlier but ended earlier as well. Damn. >_> There's usually a half hour break (mine's at eleven) for recess though. Or lunch (at twelve) on mondays. Other than that... well, we sneak food into class 8Dv

(: No problem! If you still need the info, my opinion on American's is that they're mainly rich >_> /sweats/ now I know this isn't very true, but whenever we see a Caucasian we go 'rich!' Mainly because they have all the high-end stuff. I guess it has to do with the fact that they're the children of expectriates? (I forgot how to spell that word, sorry) Also the general opinion is that the USA has alot of obese people who are racist. >___> UH SORRY. But that's what we perceive. And that most of them have something against African-Americans in general >___________> notbekillingmenowthanks.♥

I'm not offended. :D It doesn't offend me to hear those things--because see, stereotypes are sometimes true, aren't they? They have to come from somewhere--and the things you said do exist in American culture and are absolutely a problem. We boast equality, but we are so far from abolishing racism. It interesting that you see that too--I wish more people here could ( ... )

Oh school. Love-hate relationship at its best. XD
-What time you start
7.30 am for us seniors. For sophomores and juniors it's in the afternoon, 1.00 pm. (No freshman mentioned because we only 3 years of high school - 10, 11, 12.)

-What time you end
11.55 am and 5.25 pm, respectively. Yep, half-days.

-How you get to school
I use my bike, or motorbike. These days it's mostly motorbike, I'm such a lazy ass. >_-What classes you take ( ... )

See you were one I was particularly interested in hearing from--as you've been here before and experienced our school system. Or Wisconsin's, yes? Is it part of why you're coming back here for school in the fall?

Thank you for all this help--I think its really interesting to see all these differences and then the similarities too. Just learning about other cultures is so cool to me. :D I geeked out when I got to read all of these answers because its so intriguing.

Thank you again! Really!!

Ahh man...some certainly are all those things you said, absolutely. It is ridiculous too, those sorts irritate me and their my brethren so to speak. But! I am gad at least that doesn't apply to all of us--that is, perhaps, a stereotype you don't let be one? Where you give all them at least a little chance? Before they prove themselves stupid.

Thanks for your help, bud! I really appreciate it--honesty and all. :D

-What time you start
Well i am in college now~ But i guess i could answer what my school used to be like
-What time you end~ We would start at about 9 and we would end at 3 or sometimes if we talked our teacher into letting us leave a bit early
-How you get to school~ Took the bus before I could drive
-What classes you take~ basics; math, history, astronomy, english, fashion design, anthropology, yoga, etc.
-How many days a week you go to school~ all 5 days TT^TT
-How much time you spend on homework~ hmm no more than an hour
-What you wear to school~ mostly jeans, t shirts and hoodies
-What classes/teachers/students are like~ some of the classes were calm, some of the teachers were either nice, intence, or boring, and the students varried from assholes to weirdos
-What important tests do you take throughout one year and throughout all of your schooling~umm midterms and finals
-How school make feel~ school now makes me feel better since my teacher now is very fun, but before it felt like a chore that never ended

You live in California, right? Are you start at 9? Are you kidding me? God I would love that--I am living in the wrong state. Fucking wrong state. ^_^ You also have the whole year though right? Or at least my cousin did when she lived in California.

Thank you so much for helping. :D This was cool to see--especially how we are all but a few states away and its so different still.

What is a Jeepney? Is it like public transportation?

Thank you so much! This is really interesting to see--especially when its college in the Philippines versus college in the US. I don't think there are many American college students who would be willing to go to school seven days a week. Which is...good and bad, maybe? I'm not sure. But! I like hearing about other countries--I love it! Thank you!!

yes...it's the most common mode of transpo here...**more common than the bus**

it isn't really that common for students to go to school even on Sundays...we just didn't have any other choice because there's no other available schedules where we can use the laboratory... X3
