I'm feeling a little better today. I think the shock of finding out I was pregnant, mixed with all the stress we've been dealing with lately, has been kind of taking a toll on me. It's not that I don't want this child, it's just that maybe I'm not as cool and collected about it as I thought I was. I have been panicking, and not just about the ( Read more... )

My grandma died during finals week in college. She "almost died" so many times that I grew immune to it and started thinking it wasn't really going to happen. I didn't make it a priority to visit her and the day I was actually going to visit her turned out to be the day of her funeral.

I really wish I could say, like you are able to say, that I visited her as often as I could. I was very selfish, but the least I can say is I truthfully did believe that I had time.

I am so sorry that you won't be able to see him again, but I just want you to know that through everything you've said about him in LJ, you have been great to him and you shouldn't have any regrets.

John told me I would regret not visiting him a couple weeks ago when I had the oppurtunity, and I do to an extent..but then I don't. My dad was already going with my brother and sister, and me and Reagan would have made it almost overwhelming for them. He still wasn't all that great even then. I didn't go because the thought of taking care of Reagan on my own over the weekend (away from home) was terrifying - I've done it before, and it's horrible because she doesn't sleep at all, but you can't just let her cry a little bit because it would disturb him. :/

anyway, yes, thank you. :)

Its a good decision not to go. I made that decision with my grandpa too. My mom's dad. My dad is the only one who saw him (he had a heart attack) in the ER. He said he was all blue and tubes and stuff. So, its best to remember him happy and alive.

When my grandma died, I did see her. I was only 11. So I didn't think anything of it at the time. I just wanted to see her one last time. But sometimes I wish I hadn't. She was in a coma, so she didnt know I was there. It just would have been better that way.

But, I am sorry. Albeit, premature. But I don't really keep up with my friends list these days.

I'm sorry that you're losing your grandpa. I know how much you love him and will miss him. I'm so thankful your grandma has decided to accept his wishes from his will and let him go peacefully, without heroic measures. It's admirable and hard for many families to do. You'll see him again in heaven...
