i have been trying to get some "spring cleaning" done. .... can you tell i am way behind schedule? i mean its ONLY midsummer....

The house is pretty much a disaster.  part of the storage problem in the house is because we don't have a storage locker anymore.  (well except for the one at Pennsic).  The more stuff you cram into a  row home, the harder ( Read more... )

how much of your mid section shows is based on how you drape and tuck the Sari...
to be honest, although its NOT authentic, i have worn them with full t shirts and no one blinked. i still got compliments.
i really dont like Salwar Kameez. they look .... well all of them except the most expensive look like pajamas on me. also i have very broad shoulders, and that means that most of the tops just dont fit me, even if i get lucky enough to find one that fits the rest of me. i have one suit (a pants, top, scarf set) that kind of fits me. if you want it? i never wear it)

the problem with displaying a kimono on the wall is that it presumes enough wall space to display one.....
i am still hunting wall space to display some small prints! besides, with the way dust builds up here i would HAVE to put it in a case, and i cant afford that.
nice idea though...

singlemaltsilk deals in vintage kimono and obi and may be able to help you liquidate your collection.

i have some nice ones, its a small collection, but as i am rather taller than average for a Japanese woman (i am 5 foot 8 or 9 depending on who you ask) and .. umm.. "not elf like" i tend to be hard to fit.
i have three i am selling right now, with two others i may be selling, or may keep.....
plus a couple of obi....
ummmm

hmm
uh?? well i guess a bit less than i paid for them would be about 100 dollars each on average...oh heck, i have no idea... want to talk off lj? i can email you a photo and you can make me an offer.....

i had to keep reminding myself not to bid on something that was "almost the same" as something i had paid for but hadn't arrived yet (shipping from Asia, sigh......)
i have ONE shipment due in soonish..... then i am all caught up.

i hope to have a good photo soon.

*laughs* divorcing and moving will force you to toss stuff you never thought you would.

my share of the household? we're talking 2 dozen smallish boxes, about 8 black trash bags (clothing) two bedside dressers, a lingerie chest-of-drawers, a very small bookcase, and a blanket chest. not much for 16 years marriage.

of course this gives me the opportunity to raid mama's house...which holds 46 years worth of marriage-stuff PLUS the stuff from my grandmother's house. free kitchen junk! yay! :D

ok, so i pay for it by dragging a pouting teenager cross country, but its all good.

SMOOCHES!
have i mentioned i think you need glasses, but thats fine with me....
i have clothing that fits . umm. very large people. although i gave away most of it already, i am slowly going down from my high of size 22 womens...
i lost most of it, then re gained a good bit under stress.. and am slowly losing again.
i am aiming at a stable size 14, which looks good on me. (and feels better on my knees)
