i have been trying to get some "spring cleaning" done. .... can you tell i am way behind schedule? i mean its ONLY midsummer....

The house is pretty much a disaster.  part of the storage problem in the house is because we don't have a storage locker anymore.  (well except for the one at Pennsic).  The more stuff you cram into a  row home, the harder ( Read more... )

Well, I accumulate even if I move regularly (seriously, I was counting the number of places I lived and it was something like 10 addresses in 5 years, although the last 22 months I have been at the same address). And I still have boxes of stuff accumulating (crafty stuff does not HELP with not accumulating - I have wool, fabric, cross stitch supplies (as I have gotten back to doing that seriously I have added LOTS))

Then kitchen stuff (which i am not allowed to buy any more other than a kenwood mixer) (*personal goal)

bento boxes are very cool. But I have stopped at 3(or 4).

As are saris and kimonos. I agree with you about saris looking good on most people. There is just something so stylish about them.

Hot weather is annoying, especially with no air conditioning. Definitely the kind of weather to eat cool foods, or things you can cook outdoors... stay hydrated and healthy :)

Pennsic is coming up again soon?

While the standard sari wrapping method may not be period, there are other ways to wrap a sari that are period. I have been looking into the history of Indian clothing and have found alternative ways women wore a sari. Unfortunately, a lot of them require being bare breasted, but not all.

You should sign up for the SCA_India list. They frequently talk about clothing there.
